Hello Navigating the Stars Fans!

This little update is to let you know that I am starting work on a new line of horoscope greeting cards! I’m super excited as this new line of cards will feature photos – by yours truly – of each sign as they will be depicted in my upcoming science fiction/fantasy novel, set to be published in the fall of 2015. The characters in the novel, one for each sign of the zodiac, will be thrust into an epic journey in which the protagonist (Pisces) will have to fight against many odds to save her planet. Along the way she will discover that she is also fighting to save Earth, a sister planet whose memory has drifted into the realm of myth.

To do this photo shoot I am in the initial phases of gathering props and wardrobe items. I have been on the lookout at thrift stores, but purchasing all of the items will be too expensive so I’m reaching out to anyone who may have one or more of these items tucked away in a tickle trunk or closet. Any loans, gifts, or perhaps trades (I can offer tarot readings, fairy wings, horoscope greeting cards, and writing and editing skills) would be greatly appreciated.

I hope to do this photo shoot in the first couple of weeks of August. Location will most likely be along the Cowichan River around Skutz Falls.

Wardrobe items and props needed:

1. Leather chaps, not fringed. Or vintage trapper leggings.

2. One bearskin (or other animal) vest – does not need to be real

3. One long vest with winged collar – black

4. One pirate shirt – white with lace-up neck

5. One pair of men’s black leather pants – tall

6. One cotton lace summer dress, preferably sleeveless, maybe low cut, calf length

7. One men’s tweed jacket with elbow patches

8. An old violin, will not be played

9. Two women’s hooded capes – hopefully one  grey and one burgundy or forest green

10. I need two dresses that are either Celtic or elven priestess in style. I want something simple, hopefully with a square, brocade neck and in grey or burgundy

11. A large scholar’s gown in burgundy or black to which I can attach a thick brocade to the trim

12. A full length, early medieval tunic in a style that would have been worn by the wealthy

13. A pair of roman style sandals for men – size 13

14. A men’s wetsuit that I can modify to look like a Fremen stillsuit (Frank Herbert’s Dune series)

15. One hooded men’s cape – preferably black

16. One queen’s gown – looking for something Ice Queen if possible.

17. A bow, arrows, and a quiver

18. Two pairs of men’s leather boots, one more biker style, the other more horse riding style

19. Two pairs of women’s moccasins

20. One leather jacket with buckles on body and cuffs

21. A gambusi or a lute

22. A gun holster with thick, low riding belt

I am also looking for models. I need 13 in total (as Gemini is two characters). I would love to have a model for each sign with gender as listed below:

Aries – male

Taurus – male (preferably tall)

Gemini – one male, one female

Cancer – female

Libra – male – 60-years +

Aquarius – male

Pisces – female
