biocentrismAll Signs

While the science behind Biocentrism – which teaches that life and consciousness are fundamental to the universe; it is consciousness that creates the material universe, not the other way around – is still out, Dr. Robert Lanza, author of Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness are the Keys to Understanding the Nature of the Universe, one’s consciousness does not die with the death of the body, instead it amalgamates with this larger consciousness of the universe.

“Consciousness exists outside of the constraints of time and space. It is able to be anywhere: in the human body and outside of it. In other words, it is non-local in the same sense that quantum objects are non-local,” says Lanza.

In spiritual terms, this indicates that our past lives are still with us. An ancestor is not merely a memory or stories, they are an extension of the self throughout time. These ancestors still walk and talk and live and breathe and have influence on the lives of groups and individuals.

But we, in the “Western” world have grown distant from these voices and teachings. We look past to our history, but not to the knowledge that resides in the consciousness that exists between time and space.

Our past lives, or our ancestors, are trying to speak to us now. They are trying to teach us how to act from the place inside us all that is linked to the Mother: the caregiver, the preserver, the one who maintains balance. We are experiencing this energy in our everyday realities through our passions. We feel passionate about justice, the environment, equality, feminism, and basically, how we treat each other and the planet. We react to the turmoil and hard self-reflection that these teachings create within us with raw emotion instead deliberate action (even if we think we are being deliberate). We blindly lash out to the world in an attempt to regain balance, a balance that we can feel deep within us but that we don’t even really know how to define yet.

If we listen closely and remain open and receptive with body, mind, and soul we will begin to hear how to go through what is essentially a birthing process with a sense of underlying logic and deliberateness. This logic is bigger than ourselves and requires us to unlearn a lot of what we have learned as a species. And what we are unlearning is the act of segregating or denying the the other and being in fear of the unknown. Each time we react to injustice, instead of responding deliberately and thoughtfully, we are still excluding some aspect of self that needs to be acknowledged, accepted, and healed.

If science can truly link the physical with the ethereal and thus the endless knowing that is ourselves, it will help us to answer our deepest questions about what life is. It is not any one single God being that dictates the fate and circumstances of our lives, nor is “spirituality” simply a misguided longing that is separate from scientific knowledge. It will show that all of self is in fact a network of consciousness that includes our individual uniqueness and intent. Assuming that we know the answer because we feel strongly about correcting injustice only means that our egos are running the show and there is no room for true compassion.

Aries – Mar. 21 to Apr. 19

You don’t have to worry that your integrity is lacking. All the self-doubt you’ve experienced in your life is being stripped away and you are now ready to act on what you know is the right thing to do. Whatever the issue is, whatever you are wrestling with inside, trust yourself and your intuition. You will make the right choice, even if at first it hurts or feels chaotic and wrong. Shedding your self-doubt means that you will also have to make some tough decisions about how you want to live your life. You are ready to embrace a lifestyle that is whole and healthy, but in some cases this may mean changing patterns that you have lived for a very long time. You might feel rebellious, you might dig your heals in a little and try to stop these changes from happening, but you know deep down inside that you will be happier if you surrender to the process and push forward with the unwavering integrity inside you.

Taurus – Apr. 20 to May 20

Your soul is infusing your body with feelings of love, nurturing, protectiveness, and creativity. Your mood is cheerful and others can see that you are feeling foot-loose and fancy-free; you just want to play in the fullness of life. Now, this isn’t a bad place to be, except for the fact that you are being a little bit blind to the needs of others. Your perception and thought processes about how things are supposed to go has narrowed to include only your point of view: what you need and want, and how you think things should be done. To deal with this, and thus to create easier dealings in all of your relationships, remember to remain open and receptive. Don’t assume that you know the answer. Take the time to reflect and listen so that the others feel included and heard.

Gemini – May 21 to Jun. 20

It is essential to maintain a big-picture perspective with all aspects of your life right now, dear Gemini. If you get lost in the micro you’ll lose out on the macro because you won’t have received the magic trying to make its presence felt in your life. In other words, the little things don’t matter, so stop nit-picking and being petty. I know you’re reacting this way because you’re scared and unsure, but I promise you, the universe has wonderful things in store for you if you’d only cooperate. What matters to you right now? What really matters deep down inside? The same things as the rest of us: love, family, community, etc. So, if you’re so worried about who did what when, what bills haven’t been paid, whether the kids have matching socks on, then your taking time away from family and those moments will have passed you by forever.

Cancer – Jun. 21 to Jul. 22

You just want to play and your mind won’t stop giving you grief about it. You’re getting very good at procrastinating because you can’t make up your mind to actually do anything. Oh, dear Cancer, I feel your pain. It’s summer and you want to be at the lake, hanging out with friends, going on a road trip, and doing all the fun stuff. Well in order to counteract the guilt that is building up because you haven’t accomplished anything, focus on the purity of your intent. In other words, get back to what really matters to you in the big picture of your life. From this perspective you can begin to formulate a plan, or schedule, that accommodates both your practical goals and your need to have some fun while the summer sun is here.

Leo – Jul. 23 to Aug. 22

You are the guardian of the rebel. You are not in a mood to let anyone tell you what to do or how to live your life. You have a bone to pick with government and social structures and you are not afraid to voice your opinion. You also see flaws in others’ relationships, parenting skills, and lifestyles. Basically, these days, you are a critic on every level. Within your own life you are rebelling by being lazy. You are more talk than walk. But that’s okay, your refusal to do anything about what you see as not right with the world is a statement in itself. Ultimately you will reap the benefits of your “hard work”, benefits that will show up in the form of creative solutions to the problems you’ve been pondering, and in the form of new and unexpected intimate relationships. Probably it will be the people you connect with who will bring you the solutions you have been waiting for.

Virgo – Aug. 23 to Sept. 22

It’s really important for you to take some time to reflect on all the things you are good at. What can you do that no-one else can? In other words, what’s your special power? If you can’t think of anything then you’re not thinking hard enough. Maybe you need some time with a good friend who will help to boost your ego, because everyone is good at something. Perhaps through shared interests there can be found a shared intent that benefits all parties involved and helps you to remember your talents and how you can express these talents out into the world. And don’t be afraid to make new friends in the process. New perspectives can inspire us and bring out parts of ourselves that we didn’t know existed.

Libra – Sept. 23 to Oct. 22

Life isn’t so great right now, is it? You feel alone and isolated and it seems as if everything is falling apart. You’re worried about your health, you don’t like where you live, and you can’t do things that were once part of your day-to-day reality. It’s hard in these moments to remember that death is merely rebirth and that sometimes we need to be alone in order to appreciate the meaningful relationships in our lives. All I can do is assure you that when you come out the other side of this apparent crisis you will have new ideas about how to create more harmony and sharing in your life. You will also be more determined than ever to focus on and change thing things that cause you stress, such as your health and where you live. What you are really experiencing is the light of your own intent shining with intensity from your solar plexus. You have a powerful intent, you just don’t want to acknowledge its existence yet. Once you get on with the business of doing what you really want to do, there will be no problem.

Scorpio – Oct. 23 to Nov. 21

Fight for the preservation of your totality. All aspects of you are important, vital even. You need to stop ignoring all the parts of you that don’t seem to fit into society. You have a fire in your belly, remember? But whether you’re running around with a million things on your plate, or you’re staying quiet because you don’t want to rock the boat, you are not participating in your own becoming. Somehow, you are remaining passive and the opportunities that life is presenting are passing you by. Now is the time to seize control of a life that has felt chaotic and discordant. You are at the helm, and if you don’t engage and own all of your personalities and selves you will continue to feel dissatisfied and unfulfilled.

Sagittarius – Nov. 22 to Dec. 21

Like Libra you are feeling isolated and like your world is falling apart. You’ve grown a hedge of pessimism around yourself; nothing and no-one is good enough. You feel let down and disconnected and everyone else is to blame. But inside you know this isn’t true, things just haven’t been going your way and it feels like the universe is shitting on you. So what to do about it? Well, try being in touch with the innocent within you. You know, the one who looks at a flower like it’s the most amazing thing ever? Try falling in love with the world again by being on the lookout for wonder and beauty. Create a positive environment around yourself and see how others respond. I think it will take your breath away.

Capricorn – Dec. 22 to Jan. 19

The disappointment you’ve been feeling lately is because you are clashing up against everything you were taught to do. The real you, the one underneath that you don’t let anyone else see, is trying to make its way to the surface of your personality. Though it seems sort of counterintuitive, it might help you to compare yourself to others. Look honestly at who you are right now and where you are at in your life. Really look at how those around you live their lives: whether or not they are truly happy, if they are doing what they really want, and if they are in relationships that feed and inspire them. You will see that you are in a pretty good place compared to many. Though you may not have your life figured out just yet (who does?), you have a sense of groundedness and perspective that comes from the lessons you’ve learned and thus you are secure in yourself in ways that others may not be.  Remember, do what feels good and whole and don’t listen to the monkey on your back.

Aquarius – Jan. 20 to Feb. 18

You’re aware that things have to change, right? If you keep going on this trajectory of denial you are going to lose those who matter most to you, you know that right? You have an opportunity right now to access a new level of awareness that will allow you to have insight into the heart of those you care about and the issue/s you are facing. This insight will allow you to have greater compassion and understanding for others and thus create the magic that is needed to heal the pain and hurt and to move on to a new level of intimacy. I would advise that you don’t stop to ponder whether deeper intimacy is really something you want because we both know it’s what you’ve been secretly longing for all your life. Here, yet again, is another opportunity to move past the walls and barriers you have created and experience love that is truly caring, accepting, and unconditional.

Pisces – Feb. 19 to Mar. 20

You and your loved one are on an adventure together. An adventure called life. You chose the person you are with because you could see the beauty in them and because they showed you that they truly loved you. I mean really, if your partner has not shown you, with their actions, how much they love you then you shouldn’t be in the relationship. But if they have, you need to show them that you trust them. Trust in the relationship, trust in the adventure, trust that everything will be okay and that this person loves you for who you are and does not expect you to be anything else. You are the one with the brakes on and your defenses up. You are so ready to believe that if your partner sees who you really are that they’ll walk away. But even if they do, this isn’t about them or their comfort, it’s about setting yourself free, it’s about having the courage to blindly follow along the path to your own becoming. Don’t deny the world your of beauty.
