With tonight’s Supermoon, (July 12, 2014), expect everything to fall apart and make total sense at the same time. Expect your world to change. Expect to have epiphanies. Expect that triumph will rise out of tragedy.
Whatever areas of your life that you have not yet healed or faced and whatever dreams you have that you are not yet pursuing will be working their way to the surface of your psyche and making it very hard for you to carry on as if nothing has changed.
This means that if you are not listening to your inner self, your physical self is going to pay the price. All the things we are afraid of – whether that fear is facing the pain of our past or chasing our dreams of the future – get trapped within the energy centres of the body.
Expect inner turmoil, to be short with your loved ones, to feel conflicted and confused, or like you are misunderstood or simply not heard at all. But also expect that if you can bust through the turmoil, if you can fight your way to the core of the emotion, conversation, or situation, that you will be able to reach new levels of sharing and understanding. Those you are meant to connect with, who are family even if they are not blood related, are the ones in whom you can find safety. So let yourself be vulnerable and let your demons see the light of day.
At the same time, be prepared to face a few things on your own. Don’t expect any one person to take on the task of being your sole therapist and confidant. Reach down into the depths of your quavering belly and find the courage to face the unknown.
For that is what the Supermoon is: a gateway to the unknown. Magic and possibilities are as accessible right now as disappointment, sorrow, and even disaster. All are powerful energies that sit balanced on the blade of your intent.
So if you’re suffering the loss of a loved one, or you have fallen ill, suffered an injury, broken up with your spouse, are suddenly facing a drastic change in occupation, or are dealing with any number of misfortunate circumstances, take the time to really listen and be open to change. Trust in yourself, go with your instinct, and use your communication skills. Leave nothing in the realm of denial. No matter how much it hurts, don’t turn away from the pain and what it is trying to teach you.
And if your lessons are coming in the form of personal challenges that involve doing things you have never done before, know that the Supermoon is also a good time to make plans, to daydream, and to start and finish projects. Let your creativity soar, let your passion consume you so that time becomes irrelevant and production is prolific. Use these moments to see into the larger tapestry of your life and create the reality you want.
If you have a current wish-list (don’t we all?) make sure that you are prepared to get what you wish for. The universe will respond quickly and if you are not clear about what you want, what you get will just be another lesson and it may not be an easy one to endure.
But above all, remember to make time for the sacred, whatever that means to you. I hope that many of you went down to the water’s edge or to the top of a mountain to watch the Supermoon rise over the horizon. I hope that there, in that place of serenity, you were able to peer through the gap between realities and weave a glorious one of your very own.
